Analysis of seawater intrusion into groundwater in the coastal area of Durung Village, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia

Abstract Durung Village is a region consisting mostly of coastal and hilly areas. Utilization groundwater in the zone has been increased these recent years for all purposes life, from drinking to sanitation industry agriculture. It results new environmental problem, such as seawater intrusion that caused negative impact on resources. This research aims analyze effect into study area. Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) was used this approximation salinity value. The spatial distribution had prepared by using Geographic Information System (GIS) interpolation technique TDS parameter. revealed presented more obviously near line its northern part most affected area contamination indicated highest value 2.947 mg l -1 , whereas farther location coastline were free low values between 181 – 579 .
